Exploring Session Boundaries

Enter a cutoff value in the format (mm:ss; eg., 3:15)

Using this tool, you can explore different cutoff values to determine session boundaries. When the inter-query time difference between two consecutive queries exceeds your input value, the two queries belong to two different sessions. Your cutoff value will be used to set session boundaries from a series of queries submitted from an IP address on a day (randomly selected from the database). These queries are grouped into sessions based on your cutoff value. You may change the values to see a different grouping output.
